Breast Massage can be an integral part of health and wellness.
The musculature of the biological female chest beneath the fatty breast tissue is the same as that of a male, but not as easily accessed. The hanging nature of breasts can allow for a build up in lymph and cause inflammation and discomfort.
Breast massage can be especially helpful for those who have had breast surgeries, including lumpectomy, mastectomy, top surgeries, and augmentation. The scar tissue can adhere to different surfaces, causing difficultly with movement and pain, as well as restricting the range of motion. The extent and invasiveness of the surgery will determine how long a client needs to wait before coming in for treatment, so it is best to speak with their surgeon before booking an appointment.
The comfort of the client is very important, and the placement of the sheets will be discussed in detail before treatment begins. It is important to note that the nipple will not be treated, or touched, during the breast portion of the massage.
Breast Massage can be indicated for:
Cysts
Premenstrual Inflammation
Discomforts of Pregnancy, Breastfeeding , or Weaning
Surgery Scars
Reduction of Range of Motion Resulting from Surgery
Muscular Pain or Tension
Congestion
Edema
Drainage Concerns
Cancer Discomforts
Breast Massage can be done as its own treatment, or as part of a regular massage treatment.
